Push-Up Showdown: More Than Just Muscles at RCC

Published July 08, 2025

Sometimes the best moments on campus happen outside the classroom — and this week proved exactly that.

On June 30th, RCC students took a break from studying for their final MCQ exam to cheer on an epic push-up contest between two of our own: Robin and Laura.

This wasn’t your average gym showdown. The whole idea came from the students themselves — a fun way to blow off steam, get the blood pumping, and mark one of the last days this tight-knit Term 4A group would be together on campus.

Robin, our powerhouse tennis player, yogi, and supermom (who, by the way, is twice Laura’s age), trained daily leading up to the big day and cranked out an impressive 55 push-ups. Not to be outdone, Laura — our martial arts dynamo — wove push-up drills into her regular training and took the win with 65. The rules were simple: go until you couldn’t anymore.

It was inspiring, entertaining, and the perfect reminder that RCC is more than just textbooks and treatment tables. It’s a place where students push each other (sometimes literally) to grow, challenge themselves, and build friendships that last well beyond graduation.

Congrats again to Robin and Laura — and thanks to Term 4A for bringing so much heart (and muscle) to RCC
